China Power Engineering Consulting Corporation (CPECC) organized and established based upon the electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) of the former Ministry of Electric Power, is a limited liability and holding corporation under the State Power Corporation of China (SP). CPECC has seven subsidiary corporations which are restructured separately from the Northeast, North China (holding shared by CPECC), East China, Central-South, Northwest and Southwest electric Power Design Institutes, and China Power Construction engineering Consulting Corporation. CPECC is managed as an enterprise group. It has 12 national design masters, and 136 experts who enjoy the special subsidy by the state, 4700 senior engineers and engineers.

CPECC is an international and domestic market oriented organization providing comprehensive services for government agencies, financial institutions, investors, and power developers and project legal persons. CPECC is also qualified to undertake appraisals and evaluation of electric power projects. Its main business scope includes power system planning, and the engineering, design, consulting, and EPC contracts, and construction management of generation, transmission, and substation projects.

The corporation owns strong technical capability. Quality management and quality assurance systems have also been established in accordance with the requirements of ISO9000 Standards. The corporation has play a leading role in Clean Coal Technology, Supercritical units, combined cycle power plants, air cooled power plants, conventional island of nuclear power plants and extra high Voltage DC transmission lines.. CPECC also keep at advanced level in scientific research, standardization and information of electric power engineering & design and exploration & Survey.

CPECC has undertaken the strategetic planning of power system in relating with "transmiting power from west to the east" , and the national integration. It has accomplished more than 60% engineering work in the whole industry, including power generation, transmission, and distribution. At the meantime, it has provided the engineering consulting, construction supervision, and EPC services.

CPECC has been devoted to the international cooperation, and up to now has undertaken 160 projects of international engineering design and technology services. CPECC has undertaken the importing and assimilating the advanced technology from other countries, and promoting the applications. CPECC has established cooperation in more than 30 countries with the international enterprises, engineering companies, and organizations like FIDIC
