The Technical Consultancy Development Programme for Asia and the Pacific (TCDPAP) was established in 1992 by Economic & Social Commission for Asia & Pacific (ESCAP) under United Nations for promotion of local consultants in national and regional level projects in Asia and the Pacific Region by establishing, developing and continuously updating the consultancy capabilities & information systems. The current President is Mr. She Jianming, Chairman of China National Association of Engineering Consultants (CNAEC), and the Secretary General is Mr. R. Gopinath, Acting Director General of Consultancy Development Center (CDC), India.
The first TCDPAP international meeting was a workshop and exhibition in New Delhi in 1995. The meetings that followed progressively grew larger at subsequent venues: Beijing (1996), Dhaka (1997), Kathmandu(1998), Lahore (1999) and Kuala Lumpur (2000).
